: This one was also from the CT session. This was a new song I was working up at the time. I played drums as well as guitars on these three tunes, which was tricky. Greg gave me the idea for the lyrics, about a guy who discovers he’s not as smart as he thinks he is. I had to kind of cajole Greg into singing the lyrics, as he was a bit reticent about the second verse. To me it signified a bit of a dichotomy between Greg’s more utopian West Coast sensibility and my City of Big Shoulders viewpoint. I think he killed it on the vocals, in the end.
